Duties and Responsibilities: Perform and conduct various tests to determine vision loss, prescribes needed information and performs needed surgery, take good care of patients and monitors them, and diagnose and treat eye problems they perform minor or major operations all for a good functioning of our eyes Salary: $103,900 $49.95 per hour
Education: O.D degree may take up to 4 years of education, doctoral or professional degree
Demand: 27% much faster than average as the population grows they will need more optometrist
Reflection: I would not want to become an ophthalmologist because you need lots of patience. Also you have to be extremely careful when you perform an eye exam, you have to make sure your patient isn't allergic to the medications used to numb your eye to get a better view up close.
