Duties and Responsibilities: Orthodontist is a dental profession. It involves straightening teeth and fixing bites. Becoming an orthodontist, you’re responsible for finding problems with the patient’s teeth and with their oral development. You might use plaster molds or x-rays of your patient’s teeth.You”ll also be in charge of supervising and instructing orthodontic technicians and assistants during the procedures.

Education: You need to graduate from dental school with a Doctor of Dental Surgery or Doctor of Dental Medicine. You will first need to earn a bachleor’s degree. You will also need to take chemistry, biology, physics and organic chemistry courses. You will need to take a Dental Acceptance Test during your junior year of undergraduate studies. You’ll get didactic and clinical training. Your courses might include histology, physiology, dental anatomy, pharmacology and oral radiology.
Demand or Need for this profession: According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics there were 6,190 orthodontists working in May 2014. Also the employment of all dentists was predicted to increase 10% between 2014 and 2024.
Reflection: After doing the research of an Orthodontist I would not like to become a orthodontist. I would not like to become one because I do not like checking people’s teeth also because this job doesn’t work for me.
