WORLD WAR II

The countries that fought in World War II were Germany, Italy and Japan which comprised the Axis Power, Britain, France, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, India, the Soviet Union, China and the United States of America.

World War II began when Germany invaded Poland on Sept. 1, 1939. It took place across the globe. Most of the action took place in Europe, East Asia, and islands in the Pacific Ocean.

In August 1, 1945 USA develops the atomic bomb, and uses it in August to force the surrender of Japan. April 30, 1945 Hitler commits suicide before the fall of Berlin.

Ways to honor World War II veterans would be:

*Say “thank you”

*Place flowers/flags on the graves of veterans.

*Attend a Veteran parade

*Post a message on social media thanking our veterans
