Physician Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities:
A physician assistant practices medicine under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Determines conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic test like x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies. Document patient's care services by charting in patient and department records.
Salary:
Annual salary, hourly wage: $92,460 a year, $43.72 an hour
Education:
Many graduate students will become physician’s assistants while they complete their doctor of medicine degree programs. They are trained to diagnose injuries, examine patients, and provide treatments Require a master’s degree in either Physician Assistant Studies, Health Science, or Medical Science, and require a bachelor’s degree and GRE or MCAT scores for entry.
Demands:
Employment of physician assistants is projected to grow 30 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations. As demand for healthcare services grows, physician assistants will be needed to provide care to patients.
Reflection:
No i would not like to become a physician assistant. I would not because I would rather become a physical therapist.
