Dental Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities:
Dental Assistants perform many of the patient care, office, and laboratory duties, and often work chair-side as dentists examine and treat patients. They make patients as comfortable as possible in the dental chair, prepare them for treatment and keep their dental records.
Salary:
$34,410 - $47,090
Education:
- Complete a California state board approved Registered Dental Assistant program or 15 months of dental assistant work experience
- Complete a course in basic life support approved by the ARC or AHA
- Complete California state board approved radiation safety and coronal polishing courses
- Complete California state board approved courses mandated by the California Dental Practice Act within 5 years of applying for RDA licensing
- Pass California state exams
- Pass California state ethics exam
- Apply to the state board for licensure
